The Highlands Leisure Trail is the popular connecting trail between the resort’s Blackrock Village and the Wintergarden. The trail provides hikers with quick access to older-growth forests without taking them on a long hike, although in places it can be as steep and rocky as any of the moderate mountain trails. Near the higher end of the trail there is an overlook platform with views of the Highlands ski slopes and Wintergreen’s “Open Space” on Crawford’s Knob and alongside Humpback Mountain.
