Seeing Nature Like an Artist – August 15, 2026
Seeing Nature Like an Artist
Saturday, August 15th 9:30 to 12:30 pm
Have you ever wondered how those beautiful renditions of wildflowers or scenic landscapes develop? Explore seeing our natural world from an artistic perspective with artist Carolyn Velletri. This session introduces key artistic toolsâshape, line, value, color theory, and compositionâthrough plein air, or outdoor, drawing and watercolor sketching. Participants will receive onsite instruction and have time to practice observing and interpreting the natural world. All supplies are included and yours to keep. You do not need any artistic background, but having an open mind and willingness to see things from a new perspective is essential! Plein air art presents joys and challenges both overall and specifically in watercolor.
Be prepared to be outside (weather permitting). Please bring your smartphone or camera, as well as a portable chair or stool if available.
Limit to six participants (Ages 14 or older)
