As a participant aged 12 and over with some experience in watercolor\, you can create your own unique bookmarks! In the pursuit of fun in art\, Carolyn Velletri will lead participants in creating four themed watercolor bookmarks – clouds\, leaves\, mountains or you can take off on your own adventure! Do something different – embrace the process with fellow artistic companions as we learn\, enjoy\, and laugh together. Supplies for making four finished 2” by 6” bookmarks will be provided for use during the workshop. However\, feel free to bring your own watercolor brushes and supplies. SUMMARY:A Piece of Wintergreen’s Past: The Copper Mines- Aug 20\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join Josh Palumbo on a climb into Wintergreen’s past with a trip to the copper mines. This unique spot on the very steep east slope of Crawford’s Knob was an active mine in the late 1890’s before being quickly abandoned. Not only are the mines unique but its location is also fascinating\, located in a lovely depression along a creek bed acting as home to a variety of wildlife including deer\, turkey and\, of course\, bats. This is a trip every Wintergreen resident must put on their “bucket list”. Difficult. Bring a flashlight\, lunch and plenty of water. Payment is due at the time of registration.
