SUMMARY:An Introduction to Severe Storms and Hazardous Weather Book Discussion and Signing- October 11
DESCRIPTION:UMBC’s Professor Jeffrey Halverson has been a frequent speaker at TNFW\, all the while working on this long-awaited\, introductory textbook on severe and hazardous weather.  While this comprehensive book is geared for university undergraduates\, it presumes little or no knowledge of meteorology\, and several primer chapters on general concepts are provided up front.  The book is lavishly illustrated and delves into big storms such as Nor’easter snowstorms and tropical cyclones\, and local storms including thunderstorms\, tornadoes and flash floods.  Halverson will share highlights of his text at this presentation and be available for a book signing. Meet at Trillium House. Payment due before event. Refreshments provided.
