This unique spot on the very steep east slope of Crawford’s Knob was an active mine in the late 1890s before beingbquickly abandoned. Not only are the mines unique but its location is also fascinating\, located in a lovely depression along a creek bed acting as home to a variety of wildlife including deer\, turkey\, and\, of course\, bats. This is a trip every Wintergreen resident must put on their “bucket list”. Difficult. Bring a flashlight and plenty of water. $8/Member\, $12/Non-Member.
